To reinforce what the pictures show, this house is very much on the beach. If you're ambitious, you can go from the bed into the ocean in less than a minute. The house itself was clean, has a back porch that was lovely during the evenings and grill that was great for cooking the fresh fish we purchased from a nearby beach (just be sure to buy charcoal and lighter fluid). We flew into San Juan and it took just under 2 hours to arrive at the house. It's easy to find and located on a stretch of beach that has a few other residences and two bars. The drive into town is simple and only takes 10-15 minutes. Jim was very each to reach both before and throughout our stay. If you're looking for a true vacation at the beach, this house is great. What a wonderful place to get away! Rincon and is absolutely fantastic and this area has beautiful beaches, fun restaurants and bars and tons of adventurous activities. This place is a wonderful space to stay with a cozy and inviting interior and a fantastic location. It is on a fun street, so if you want to go to Tamboo it's right down the block, but it also has a private entrance to a secluded little cove beach, called Pools Beach, if you want some seclusion. The best of both worlds. I would definitely recommend staying here and going to explore this island! House was perfect for 2 families of 4. Having a pool was a great addition. Super close to beach-across the alley. House had all the amenities. Appreciated the beach towels, boogie boards, beach mats, cooler, etc. Kim was great and stepped into action when we had to make a trip to the emergency room. Thanks Kim! My husband and two adult children and I just spent a lovely week at ashley's Ocean View. It had all the amenities, plenty of supplies and features, and the management was very responsive.
If you want to be in the heart of Rincon with lots happening outside your doorstep, this is probably not the place for you. But if you want a peaceful getaway, perched on the side of a
hill, a 10-minute walk down to a quiet beach, this place is perfect. We could hear the animals (goat, horse, chickens) at the neighbor's, which we preferred to the late night party-ers
that were in town. The house is right next to the road, but all of the houses are and this road was pretty quiet.
We flew into aguadilla at an ungodly hour of the morning and the house was only a half hour drive away. Kim met us in the pre-dawn hours and had bought staples to get us through our first day. (Which was Christmas! We'd been worried that stores would be closed.)
We drove to a few different beaches to try them out but ended up preferring the beach right near the Rincon Beach Resort (just down the hill from the house) because it was so quiet, almost deserted Christmas week. We drove to day trips in the mountains (Batey Zip Line Tour), snorkeling in Rincon, and to various restaurants in the evening.
The highlight of the house was the wraparound porch which is accessed through both the kitchen/dining area and the master bedroom. There were no bugs, perfect weather, fans and a/C's in all the rooms (only one of us used a/C), an outside faucet for cleaning sandy feet, and even a swinging bench and a ping pong table on the lower level. There was a washer/drier with laundry detergent and a DVD player and large fridge/freezer. Plenty of extra garbage bags, towels, cleansers...
You definitely need a car to stay here.
