It has been several years since Rincon had a Piragua cart, but as of today, Angle has brought this 'old school' Puerto Rican tradition back to our town for everyone to enjoy!
What is a Piragua you ask? A Piragua /pɪˈrɑːɡwə/ as described by Wikipedia ... is a Puerto Rican shaved ice dessert, shaped like a pyramid, consisting of shaved ice and covered with fruit flavored syrup. Piraguas are sold by vendors, known as piragüeros, in small colorful pushcarts. Piragüas are not only sold in Puerto Rico; they can be found in the United States mainland in areas such as New York, where there is a large Puerto Rican community.
You will find Angel (aka Rincon Piragua) Saturdays around the Rincon Balneario (Public Beach) and Sundays at he Rincon Farmer's Market. If you'd like to book him for a private party we can help to connect you.
He will extend his appearances to spots around Rincon in the future. He will also be adding 'no sugar added' and 'real fruit juice' toppings!
Enjoy your Rincon Vacation!
